A relative of the family just got diagnosed with breast cancer. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. She has so many decisions to make and will need God's guidance as well as His comfort and strength during this time. She and her husband have 3 children too. Thank you.
Well, dad took me to chemo today, but my white blood cell count was still too low. It increased from 1.5 to 1.8 but that is not enough. On a better note, my hemoglobin increased over one whole point--now it's 10.8!
So I have another week off chemo! Kind of bittersweet. I don't want that cancer to get any ideas and start growing at a more rapid rate.
Funny story...There is this 6 mile loop out around Staci and Kelly's house that I haven't been able to complete on foot for probably over one year. I've biked it with Staci, but every time I attempt it, I end up taking the short route back which is a 4 miler. So we met Monday night at Staci's house at 7:30 pm, nice and breezy, but getting a little cloudy. The forecast wasn't calling for rain until later in the night so we took off...even after we heard some rumbling in the sky. You know where this is headed...about 4 miles it started lightening really close to us. We passed one Amish home and telephone booth, but someone was using it. So we pressed onward. Ended up ducking into another Amish phone booth at mile 5 and called for help. By the time Braydan picked us up the ran had nearly stopped and there was a beautiful rainbow. So I just think that running that 6 mile loop is just not an option.
Please remember that the Whitley County Relay for Life is this weekend at Indian Springs Middle School--just South of Columbia City on 9. It starts Saturday at 9am and runs until Sunday at 9 am. It is open to the public, so please come out and walk around the track, visit camp sites, and just hang out. The survivor lap and family, friends, and caregiver laps start at 5 pm Saturday. Then Cheyenne will be playing Saturday night from 7-9pm. The luminaria service starts around 9:30 pm. It is beautiful!
I hope to see you there.
Love, Becca
